USING CHARCOAL IN YOUR GAS GRILL

USING CHARCOAL IN YOUR GAS GRILL

We aren’t here to debate the merits of propane vs charcoal vs pellet grills (though we all know who the clear winner is 😉.) We are here to talk about how easy it is to convert your propane grill to a charcoal grill or smoker at any time. You can grab the handy Cast Iron Charcoal and Smoker Tray from Napoleon. Authentic wood-smoke flavor blessing your burgers is only a few minutes away! Take these steps from Napoleon for your charcoal tray:

  1. Remove the cooking grids and sear plates over at least two burners.
  2. Place the Cast Iron Charcoal and Smoker Tray directly onto the gas burners.
  3. Add a single layer of charcoal to the cast iron tray. Turn on the gas burners and replace the cooking grids. Allow the charcoal to ignite and ash over before turning off the gas burners.
Now it’s time to cook!

You can use wood chunks directly in the charcoal for smoky barbecue flavor, or use the integrated, covered wood chip holder for wood chips. Setup for low-and-slow ribs, or hot-and-fast ribs. Giant tomahawk ribeyes, thick center cut loin chops, cedar plank salmon, or your favorite veggies – there is no wrong way to use your grill. And now you can change your fuel source in a snap!
